joseph shields | Board director
Joseph is a Managing Director at Flow Equity, an investor, and an entrepreneur in Ethiopian agriculture. Previously a Private Equity Fellow at McKinsey & Company, he focused on economic development, private equity, and operations. He also worked for the Jameel-Poverty Action Lab in India managing a data processing and surveying organisation to conduct a randomised trial evaluation.
mirafe gebriel marcos, co-founder & board director
Mirafe served as Chief of Staff of the Agricultural Transformation Agency during the organisation’s start-up phase. Currently he leads the ATA’s new ‘Agribusiness & Markets’ pillar, which aims to transform agricultural output markets and market linkages. Prior to ATA, Mirafe worked with the World Bank for ten years as a Country Economist for Pakistan, Bangladesh and Ethiopia.
Jacie Jones, Co-founder & Board Director
Jacie serves as the group’s CEO. Prior to PFG, Jacie advised teams founding early-stage social ventures in the US. She formerly worked as a Technical Advisor and Manager at TechnoServe, where she supported a portfolio of market-based agriculture and enterprise development programs across East Africa. Jacie has supported and consulted a variety of ventures focused on value chain development, smallholder training and environmental marketing.
Andrew Carruthers | Board Director
Andrew spent part of his youth in Ethiopia and Kenya. After 20 year in Venture Capital managing 12 different funds across Europe and Asia, his experience now encompasses business creation, corporate finance as well as operational experience in high growth sectors. Investing in emerging markets since 2008, co-founding Novastar applied his skills and experience in Africa.
sid kamanth | co-founder & board director
Passionate about improving sustainability of food systems. Prior to establishing GreenPath Food, Sid was one of the early-stage staff in the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency. He is also a consultant at McKinsey & Company, and a former McKinsey Global Institute Fellow.
